Counseling Resources

The staff of the West Milford Guidance & Counseling Department maintains lists of community agencies, counselors, hotlines, and resources as a service for our parents & students.

The information on this section of the Guidance website is broken into four areas: local counselors & counseling groups, counselors specializing in substance abuse counseling,  resources for a psychological/psychiatric emergency, and hotlines & websites.  Clicking on the heading of the area of interest will bring you to each resource page.

1.  Local Counseling Groups & Counselors
This subpage provides a chart of local area counseling agencies and private counselors.  These counselors provide a variety of services and specialties.   The chart on this page will give the reader the name of the counselor/agency, location, types of services, phone number, and (if available) a link to the practice website or counselor biography.

2.   Substance Abuse Counselors
This subpage provides a chart of local area agencies and counselors who provide substance abuse/addictions counseling.  The chart on the page provides the reader with the name of the counselor/agency, location, phone number, and (if available) a link to the practice website or counselor biography.

3.   Psychological/Psychiatric Crisis Services
This subpage provides phone numbers for local psychiatric emergency services.  These numbers should only be utilized in a time of crisis not for accessing general counseling services.

4.   Hotlines & Websites
This subpage provides an alphabetical list of various hotlines and websites for a variety of concerns, issues, or areas.  This includes, but is not limited to, dating violence, substance use, teen pregnancy, runaways, LGBTQ supports, grief, and much much more.
