ACADEMIC INTEGRITY
Academic integrity is expected of all students. Plagiarism, the unauthorized copying of someone else’s thoughts and ideas, including information found on the Internet, and presenting them as your own is never permissible. Academic misrepresentation includes: copying or providing answers on any homework, quiz, test, report, essay, or other school assignment, and using sources without proper documentation. The student will earn a zero for the assignment/test. The incident will be filed at the Assistant Principal’s Office and parents will be notified by the teacher within 24 hours of the incident. All future violations of the academic integrity policy will lead to disciplinary action.
NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY
Students who achieve a grade point average of 3.75 or better during their first six (6) marking periods, and who demonstrate outstanding leadership and citizenship both in Macopin School and in the community of West Milford become eligible for membership in the Thomas A. Kraft Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society in their 8th grade year. Being selected is an honor of which any student can be proud. Any subject for which a student receives a grade is counted when qualifying for the Honor Society.
